This unique wooden plane is made for creating the tongue in sliding dovetail joints. Hornbeam sole and sloped at 10°. The iron is ground to match. An adjustable, 4-sided carbide knife spur helps reduce tear out across end grain. A steel fence determines the width of cut. The iron is set and adjusted with a hammer. The blade is bedded at 45 °.
